King Ridge: Grasshopper #5
About
King Ridge (aka Grasshopper Greatest Hits)
The King Ridge Grasshopper is a legendary ride in Sonoma County, challenging cyclists with steep climbs, thrilling descents, and varied terrain. Known for its rugged beauty, the course winds through remote mountain roads and offers breathtaking coastal views. It’s an unforgettable adventure that tests endurance and skill, capturing the gritty spirit of Northern California cycling
The Small Monster Project
A portion of proceeds will go to supporting The Small Monsters Project. Founded by our friend and Hopper regular, Ben Frederick, his organization is trying to make the world a better place.
”I founded the Small Monsters Project in 2020 as a way to share my story of recovery and to put good back into the world. Our Mission at TSMP is to take the stigma out of having “monsters” or mental heath challenges as well as providing education and resources around Brain Injury and TBI.
I suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury in 2016 and during the 4 year recovery I also had to face my “monsters” in order to fully heal. The world is hard, and you shouldn’t have to do it alone.”
To learn more about TSMP and what Ben is up to, you can go to www.thesmallmonstersproject.com, and follow @benjamfred and @thesmallmonstersproject on Instagram.
Route
There are two route options that are guaranteed to be some of the most challenging stunning roads you've ever ridden!

This format and course will ensure that we have an amazing ride on open roads. There are no timed segments on California State Highways.

Series Pass
28th Annual! The World’s First and Longest Running Gravel/Mixed-Terrain Adventure Series
5 Gravel, Pavé, MTB, Mixed-Terrain Adventure Rides and Races
2025 Pricing:
$650 (Save $150) by registering for the Series Pass
What’s a Hopper?
We’ve always counted on riders to describe a Hopper. But here’s what we’ve come up with: “Grasshoppers are eclectic mixed-terrain (yes there’s lots of “gravel” but in NorCal that doesn’t really sum up the terrain) adventure rides and races created to push riders to the limit without pushing them over”. And to take ya’ll to really cool places and shred on two wheels!Ride or Race?
Yes! It’s up to you. We have a podium for top 3 in all categories, but if you’re in for the adventure and exploration, we say “ride on”.How do I compete for the Series overall?
The Series Overall Podium is calculated using a point system. Placing in each series event awards you points in the following manner:- 1st place = 60 points
- 2nd place = 55 points
- 3rd place = 51 points
- 4th place = 48 points
- 5th place = 46 points
- Each place after 5th earns one less point than the place above it (i.e., 6th place = 45 pts, 7th place = 44 pts, and so on).
Overall Points Leaders will be calculated by adding up place points in each event completed. Only your top 4 finishes will count towards your Overall Points. If you complete all 5 events in the series, your lowest result will be dropped.
Overall points are only awarded to those who complete the long course options at Huffmaster, Ukiah-Mendo Epic, Lake Sonoma MTB, or King Ridge. For each event that has a long course option, riders competing for the overall series podium MUST ride the long course.
In order to be eligible for the Series Overall Podium, (aka “Hopper Super Hero King, Queen and Rider of the Universe”), riders must contest King Ridge, the series finale, on May 10.
Overall winners for all categories will win a free Series Pass entry into next year’s Grasshopper Adventure Series.
Can I transfer my entry to another rider?
No. Riders who purchase the discounted Series Pass may not sell or transfer their entries to individual Hoppers. Individual entries may be transferred to another rider via Movemint. Fee is $10.
Series pass includes:
● Low Gap: Grasshopper #1
● Huffmaster: Grasshopper #2
● Lake Sonoma MTB: Grasshopper #3
● Ukiah Mendo Gravel Epic: Grasshopper #4
